Military Suicide Prevention Efforts to be Reviewed

In a previous post (17 is the new “22” and that’s not good), I shared some new numbers related to the number of active duty personnel and military veterans committing suicides on an annual basis. The news wasn’t good. However It appears that Congress is getting involved, having added the requirement for an independent review of Pentagon efforts to reduce suicide in our military.

An independent commission will review the military’s suicide prevention efforts

An independent review commission will report its findings to the defense secretary later this year.
