Military Times Contaminated Base Water Database

Just so we’re clear: this is not just a Marine Corps or a Camp Lejuene issue. Just about every major American military base has reported issues with ground water or ageing dumps. It’s an “America” issue and needs to be addressed soonest by the powers that be.

Military Times   Amid growing concerns about the water on military bases, Military Times created a searchable database of all installation drinking water systems, monitoring wells and off-base locations where higher-than-recommended levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate or perfluorooctanoic acid, also known as PFOS and PFOAs have been reported. The compounds have been tied to birth defects and cancers.

The Pentagon provided a full report to the House Armed Services Committee on the contamination, which can be found here. The database was built using the Pentagon’s data and organized so it can be searched by state, service or base. Use the scroll bar at the bottom to see all the text.
